Head of Programmes – Nepal

Overall Purpose:
Renewable World Nepal jobs: The Head of Programmes will be a member of Renewable World Nepal’s Senior Management Team (SMT). The purpose of the role will be to lead the project management teams in the delivery of a range of effective and innovative renewable energy centred projects across Nepal, contributing to the achievement of Renewable
World’s overall vision, mission, and goal. The Head of Programmes will be accountable to the Global Programme Director/ Country Director for the delivery of quality projects that adhere to design and budget.


Key elements of this role will be managing the programme portfolio (including donor reporting and compliance), overseeing the management of all monitoring and evaluation systems; designing new project concepts; technical support and capacity building. The Head of Programmes will manage a multidisciplinary team of development professionals and coordinate strategic relationships with the Nepali Government and ministries, development stakeholders, local communities and programme implementing partners. This position requires at least seven years’ experience in the development sector, including three years working at a senior level, and a minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant field. This role is a hands-on role with substantial field travel required.

Senior Communications Officer

Renewable World Nepal jobs: Renewable World is growing and needs a passionate, committed Senior Communications Officer to help us engage with our key audiences.  You will support in developing and delivering a first rate communications strategy and plan, create compelling content and drive traditional and social media engagement.

This role will take our communications to the next level include campaign development and management, content creation, and channel management (including website, SEO and social media).  

You will have solid communications experience and be confident in developing strong engagement plans for supporters, funders such as corporates and individuals and partners.

The role is based in our office in Brighton but our team is currently working remotely. When conditions permit, you will be able to travel to and work routinely in the office. As this is a UK role, applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Trustee

There are currently opportunities for two or three new Trustees to join the nine current Trustees on Renewable World’s Board.  We are particularly seeking candidates with strong expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas, in priority order:

  1. Fundraising experience and expertise.
  2. International development.
  3. International programme delivery.
  4. East Africa experience especially useful.

This role is unpaid and requires an active commitment including quarterly face to face meetings in London plus engagement in the work of board subcommittees (supported predominantly by conference calls) and a willingness to travel to Brighton or other parts of the country on occasion to attend meetings with staff and funders.
