Nagesh Koirala (Nepali Congress) won with 30,170 votes in the Biratnagar Metropolitan City defeating Sagar Kumar Thapa (CPN-UML) who received 21,455 votes in Nepal local elections 2022 (Sthaniya Chunab 2079). Shilpa Karki of CPN-UML won as Deputy Mayor with 25680 votes in Biratnagar Submetropolitan defeating Amrendra Yadav (Janata Samajwadi Party) who received 14219 votes in Nepal local elections 2079.
