Ans. No, this event is free to all attendees and participating employers. However, you must individually register for this event and can do so here.

  • What documents might I need to apply to immigrate to Newfoundland and Labrador?

Ans. The fair will begin with a presentation about our offered pathways on immigrating to Newfoundland and Labrador.

a. Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to assess your education against Canadian standards

b. English Language Proficiency Exam Results: the stream you apply under will determine the minimum score you will need.

i. Accepted language results:

1. IELTS

c. Work experience letter(s) confirming your relevant and recent work experience. This letter should state: job title, salary, start/end date, main duties, etc. and be signed on company letter head by a signatory for the business.

d. Proof of funds: recent banking statements to confirm you have the funds available to support your immigration application fees, as well as initial settlement to Newfoundland and Labrador.

e. Colour photocopy of bio data page of valid passport for principal applicant along with spouse and dependent children (if applicable).

f. Other documents may be required depending on your circumstances, as well as the immigration pathway under which you apply.

         8. Can my family accompany me in my immigration application?

         Ans. a. Yes your spouse and dependent children will be included in your applications for a temporary work permit and permanent residency.

  • Can I permanently live in Newfoundland and Labrador?

Ans. the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) offer pathways to Permanent Residency in Canada. With a valid job offer from an eligible Newfoundland and Labrador employer, you can apply to the program for which you meet requirements. Upon approval under the NLPNP or AIP, you will be able to apply for Permanent Residency (PR), as well as a temporary work permit, allowing you to travel to Canada and begin working while your PR application is in process.

* Important note: approval under NLPNP or AIP does not guarantee approval for a temporary visa or permanent residency. The federal government of Canada under the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) make the final decision on these applications.

      10. Do I need to pay any fees during my immigration application process?

       Ans. a. Yes, however there are two sides to the process: one provincial application (NLPNP or AIP) and two federal applications (work permit and Permanent Residency).

       b. Provincially, under the NLPNP and AIP, there are no fees for applicants nor their employer.

        c. Federally once you are approved under NLPNP or AIP, an employer would need to pay an Employer Compliance fee to submit an Offer of Employment to support a hired worker from outside of Canada. This fee cannot be recovered from the applicant.

         d. Federally once you are approved under NLPNP or AIP, an applicant would need to pay the work permit and permanent residency application fees, along with the biometrics fees. All federal fees are clearly labeled during the application process.
